Iceland Travel Itinerary – Day by Day Travel Plans

We get asked fairly often about our Iceland travel itinerary. So we thought we would share what we did to offer some insight about traveling to Iceland. And keep reading until the very end to see our video from Iceland. We flew via IcelandAir and did their #MyStopover deal. It’s a really cool idea, make sure to check that out to make the most of a trip to Europe. Make sure to have your Iceland itinerary made up in advance and accommodations booked.

First we flew went to Amsterdam for 4 nights and then returned back to Reykjavik. There we explored the majestic scenes of the Ring road. We used a company for a self-driving tour so they arranged the car and hotels. That’s one way to take some of the stress out of planning your trip to Iceland.

Iceland Itinerary

Day 1 – Nov. 7th

(After spending 4 days in Amsterdam) Leave Amsterdam and arrive in Reykjavik. Pick up car, check into hotel, explore the city at night, followed by dinner at the Sægreifinn – The Seabaron. Traveling can be exhausting. So depending on arrival time in your destination and your future plans, it might be a good idea to just relax and settle in after exploring a bit.

Excellent photos of Iceland a such great advice. I hadn’t thought of booking a combined package that saves the trouble of booking a car separately. The video at the end is fun, too 🙂 Thanks for the inspiration!
